Catherine Karp

I am writing this post to introduce author and blogger Catherine Karp. Catherine was born and raised in Southern California. She has two historical fiction novels published, “Gilded” and “Voices Airy.” Voices Airy was a finalist for the ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year award in the category of historical fiction. Catherine won the Hollywood Film Festival’s Book Discovery Award in 2000. She is currently working on a young adult gothic historical novel she describes as a blend of ghost story, mystery, fantasy, horror, love story, and coming of age tale. The title of the novel she is currently working on is “Blackbirds.” Catherine writes paranormal young adult fiction under the pen name Cat Winters. She hopes to have the manuscript complete by early 2011.

Catherine operates two separate blogs. “The Dark Fiction of Cat Winters” contains information about herself and the progress of her current writing project “Blackbirds.” The second blog is titled “Suburban Vampire.” The Suburban Vampire site contains an extensive list titled “Upcoming Vampire Movies/Series in which Catherine lists the titles along with the year in which they are due to be released. The site also has a list titled “Vampire Music Mondays” in which Catherine features a different Vampire/Halloween-themed song on Mondays. Catherine also interviews other authors and posts them to her blog. Giveaways and links to other vampire and horror related sites finish out this very interesting and informative blog.
